Starting with logging railroads, we’ll visit a logging railroad that in its heyday ran a 72-mile mainline with 6% adverse grades, and be treated to action on board, We’ll see some brand new diesel locomotives being put into service to replace their steam brethren.
Next, we’ll visit mining railroads, ranging from two-foot gauge teapots dancing on uneven track beside narrow gauge steam, to first generation diesels pulling loads to smelters.
